Monday, November 22, 2010

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Chris Conner scored his first goal of the season with 7:04 remaining in the third period to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday night.

Kris Letang and Sidney Crosby had power-play goals for the Penguins, who came into the game ranked 25th in the league with the man advantage.

Crosby, who also had an assist, extended his career-best point streak to nine games and now has recorded at least two points in eight of his last 11 games. He entered with 33 points, one behind NHL scoring leader Steven Stamkos of Tampa Bay.

Cory Stillman and Bryan McCabe scored for the Panthers (9-10-0), who missed a chance to get over the .500 mark for the first time this season.
