AAA: Ohio gas prices fall 5 cents to average $2.90 a gallon

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio gasoline prices have fallen 5 cents from last week’s two-year highs amid a slide in oil prices.

A survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express shows Ohio’s average price for regular-grade gasoline has gone down 5 cents from last Monday, to $2.90 a gallon.

Crude oil prices tumbled more than 3 percent on Friday after China reported steep inflation for October. Traders are concerned policymakers may take additional measures to slow China’s economic growth, which could hurt demand for oil.

A falling dollar and rising oil prices had helped to push Ohio gas prices to their highest levels since the fall of 2008.

Last year at this time, the state’s motorists were paying 40 cents less for gas, an average $2.50 for regular.
