May 17

Theft: Two bottles of a cleaner were stolen from Gamestop, 1222 Doral Drive.

Theft: A $300 mountain bike was taken from a back yard in the 6100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft: A woman in her late teens stole $50 worth of cosmetics from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: Two people took a $50 pair of men’s tennis shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A customer rented but failed to return a 60-inch TV and a living-room set to Eagle Rental, 6132 Market St.

Vehicle theft: A Canfield man’s 1993 Ford van was stolen at a Lockwood Boulevard business.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a trailer at a construction site in the 800 block of East Midlothian Boulevard and took a portable generator, a drill and numerous other tools.

Assault: A township woman suffered injuries to her right elbow, both knees, back, face and head after having been assaulted at an apartment in the 100 block of Lemans Drive.

May 21

Felonious assault: Authorities interviewed a North Lima man at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus, who reported having been stabbed in the cheek with a screwdriver while leaving a building on Homestead Drive.

Theft by deception: An employee with Dollar General, 5953 South Ave., alleged a co-worker deliberately failed to fully charge a family member for items bought, and gave unauthorized refunds and discounts.

Felonious assault: A charge was pending against a 60-year-old Boardman man after a woman making a phone call at a residence in the 7600 block of South Avenue alleged the man had struck her in the head with a metal chair. She sought medical treatment for a lump to the affected area.

Theft: Twenty-two baby items were stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, resulting in a charge against 42-year-old Kelly J. Reed, 29 W. Woodland Ave., Columbiana. She was released on a summons.

Theft: A pack of bracelets was taken from Claire’s Boutique in the Southern Park Mall.

Menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Poland Road eatery reported receiving 20 unwanted text messages, some threatening harm.

Theft: A man in his 30s fled Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road, after taking 12 articles of clothing, two of which were found in the parking lot.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

May 22

Drugs: While investigating a traffic violation at a police checkpoint on Market Street, officers said they discovered 55-year-old James R. Coffin, 4120 Brookwood Road, Boardman, was under several license suspensions. Coffin also faced a felony charge of possession of drugs when, they said, he had a small rock of suspected crack cocaine in his hand.

Breaking and entering: A worker for Harbor Pet Center, 7338 Market St., discovered a break-in. Missing was a $4,000 dog and an undisclosed amount of money from a safe.

Theft: End tables, pots and pans, a bed sofa and other items were stolen from a residence in the 5100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Two of a vehicle’s tires were slashed in the 5500 block of Market Street.

Attempted auto theft: Police found damage to a 1993 GMC vehicle’s steering column and its turn signal on in the 4700 block of Lake Park Road.

Arrest: Police responded to a robbery at Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, and charged a Youngstown boy, 16, with complicity to theft. Stolen was $48 worth of clothing.

Domestic violence: A 15-year-old township boy was charged after his father alleged the teen had tried to head-butt the accuser during a struggle over a book bag.

Theft: Police charged Matthew S. Rudder, 20, of 2409 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, with stealing a shirt and a pair of shorts from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A Campbell man left a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant to discover damage to his car’s front fender and two driver’s-side doors. The damage estimate was $700.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 5100 block of Market Street led to the arrest of 28-year-old Glenn J. Barnes, 6903 Trenholm Road, Boardman, who was wanted on a warrant from the county.

May 23

Arrest: Officers charged 66-year-old Ralph Dulak, 4014 Helena Ave., Boardman, with failure to comply with police and operating a vehicle impaired. Dulak had run a red light and initially failed to stop for police, a report said.

Vandalism: Two lamps were damaged and a coffee maker was broken in a room at a South Avenue motel.

Breaking and entering: Took place when someone entered a garage in the 4000 block of Hillman Way, from which a 30-foot aluminum ladder was missing.

Theft: A man in his 30s stole two pairs of shoes and perfume from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Attempted auto theft: A 1997 Chevrolet Lumina’s steering column was damaged in the 4000 block of Hillman Way, apparently as someone tried to steal the car.

Auto theft: A 1994 Chevrolet van was stolen in the 5900 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Someone stole $114 worth of clothing and other merchandise from Burlington Coat Factory.

May 24

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window sustained $300 of damage in the 400 block of Canterbury Lane.

Theft: A metal grate was removed from a gas grill in the 7000 block of Claybourne Avenue.

Theft/damage: Someone broke a car’s passenger-side window in the 100 block of Terrace Drive before stealing a bag containing alcoholic beverages and a tote bag.

Theft: A checkbook, a driver’s license and a debit card were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Clifton Avenue.

Theft: Spare change was taken from a car in the 4800 block of Grover Drive.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 700 block of Annawan Lane pried and shattered a window to a vehicle and damaged a door frame.

Theft/damage: Ten compact discs and a pair of sunglasses were missing from a car in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard that had a shattered window.

Recovered property: A 1991 Buick was found after a Southern Boulevard man had reported it stolen.

Theft: A woman at an East Midlothian Boulevard gas station reported her wallet stolen.

Theft: An AM/FM/CD stereo and a speaker were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Lemans Drive.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken at an apartment in the 4000 block of Hillman Way.

Theft: A Paxton Road woman accused a family member of stealing $300 from her.

May 25

Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 7300 block of Salinas Trail, from which a 9 mm handgun was missing.

Attempted burglary: Police discovered damage to two rear doors after someone had tried to enter a home in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive.
