McDONALD — The board of education approved new two-year contracts for the high school and elementary school principals at their current salaries.
The board rehired high school principal Gary Carkido, a McDonald resident, under a new two-year contract from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2012, at his current annual salary of $71,750.
Maggie Kowach, a Warren resident, also was rehired under a two-year contract through July 31, 2012, as Roosevelt Elementary school principal at $68,295.
The board took the action at its meeting tonight.
Medical, dental and vision care coverage for the administrators has been altered under the new contracts, and they will be required to make a larger co-pay for their health coverage, treasurer Brian Stidham said.
