The Ironman Warehouse’s new location is guaranteed to “tire” its movers.

Today, owners and members of the East Side gym will flip 300-pound tires, roll 400-pound tires and carry other items for 1.8 miles to their new downtown location at 350 East Federal Street.

The public is welcome to join in the fun or just run alongside Ironman members.

The festivities start at 10 a.m. at 1629 Wilson Avenue on the city’s East Side. The gym is best known for training middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik.

Co-owner Paul “Dunner” Dunleavy did a test run a few days ago and said it’s plenty difficult.

“I rolled a 450-pound tire and I looked like a homeless person with all the dirt on me,” he said, chuckling. “But my guys wanted to do it.”

Dunleavy doesn’t expect everyone to make it the 1.8 miles, so he’s hoping to get enough people to make it a relay.

“We want to make it a big attraction-type deal,” he said.
