Storm damage reported in Columbiana County

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

LISBON — Darren Dodson, the director of the Columbiana County Emergency Management, said this morning that thunderstorms caused damage in several parts of the county.

Dodson said a county bridge in Lower Elkton Road in Elkrun Township was washed away, according to the county engineer’s office.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said state Route 45 was closed Monday night at Teegarden Road between Miller and Salem Grange Roads in Salem Township due to high water.

Dodson said one lane is now open. The road will be reopened as soon as the water recedes. Eagleton Road, also in Salem township, had one lane open this morning.
