Calif. woman pleads not guilty to Ohio pot charges

COLUMBUS (AP) — A California woman accused of flying with 506 pounds of pot in 13 suitcases on a private jet to Ohio has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Twenty-eight-year-old Lisette Lee has been charged with conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.

Lee waived her right to a detention hearing and so will be in custody until her August trial. Her lawyers say they will ask for a bond hearing before Lee’s next court date.

Neither Lee nor three of her family members spoke to reporters today at U.S. District Court here.

Authorities arrested Lee, of Los Angeles, at a Columbus airport on June 14.
