Wharmby Sports rallies to upend 1080 Media

Wharmby Sports rallied from an early six-run deficit to defeat 1080 Media 8-7 on Friday in Class B action at Cene Park.

Nick Balsley and Jason Burkes had hits in Wharmby’s four-run third inning that sliced the gap to 6-4.

Reliever Dom DeFelice limited 1080 to one hit over three innings.

For 1080 (10-2), Jim Dobran doubled.

OTN 10, Action Sports 7

OTN scored eight times in the first three innings then held on for a victory. Gary Revale hit a two-run double in the first inning. Two frames later, Revale and Dante Lewis doubled as OTN scored six more runs.

Ryan Halicki and Lewis each had two hits while Brent Messett tripled.

For Action Sports, Cody Kirk had three hits while Zach Palumbo and Colton Greathouse each had two.

Roth Brothers 2, Youngstown Express 1

J.W. Gora pitched all but the final out to record the victory. He allowed just two hits and one run while striking out 17 Express batters. Losing pitcher John Fithian pitched six innings, allowing six hits and two runs. He struck out four.

In the sixth inning, singles by Matt Harmon and Cam Onderko set up Nick Kolat for a two-run pinch-hit single.

Class AA Roth Brothers 5, New Hamburgh 0

YOUNGSTOWN

Eric Jones hit two triples while Ray Jaminet and C.J. Morris each doubled for Roth Brothers at Pemberton Park. Each drove in a run as did Cameron Cimino and Mike Sikarski.

Winning pitcher Keith Jackson allowed two hits in the six innings he worked.

Mike Winters and Dave Barber had the hits for New Hamburgh.
