Ohio cities tell residents to beware the heat the next few days
CINCINNATI (AP) — The weekend promises to be a hot one, prompting southwest Ohio’s major cities to tell residents to take it easy.
Dayton Public Health spokesman Bill Wharton says the agency has issued a heat advisory and is telling people to stay hydrated and think before undertaking activities that may put themselves at risk.
Anticipating temperatures of 95 degrees and higher, Cincinnati health officials have declared a three-day heat emergency from Saturday through Monday. The city is designating its recreation facilities as “cool centers” for people who need a place to escape from the heat.
