Canfield’s Salmon completes leadership training

Friday, June 18, 2010

Carol Salmon of Canfield graduated from the prestigious statewide Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute at a recent ceremony in Washington D.C.

“I am very proud of Carol’s most recent accomplishment,” said Betty D. Montgomery, chair of the board for the Institute.

“Graduation from the institute will enhance her considerable leadership skills whether in community or public service. She is an inspiration to many throughout the Mahoning County area,” said Montgomery.

The institute’s nine-month leadership training provides professional training for women aspiring to become leaders in public service, community service and the Republican Party.

Extensive studies are offered in local, state and federal governments, as well as instruction in public policy, public speaking, politics and political campaigns.

This year, the final week of training took place in Washington D.C., where national Congressional leaders and representatives from national corporations addressed the institute.

Since its first class in 2001, 174 Ohio women from 47 counties have completed the leadership course. In the fall, the institute will begin its eleventh class.
