WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE A BEAR

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Wildlife offers some tips for people who spot a black bear:

Leave it alone. Black bears aren’t typically aggressive but can be if cornered.

Keep trash inside until the day of pickup.

If you grill outdoors, clean up well when you’re done.

Move bird feeders higher or take them down if a bear is in the area.

If you spot a bear, contact local police.
