BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — A Philadelphia man is facing child endangerment charges after police say he left his 15-month-old son inside his running car while he gambled inside a casino for more than an hour.

Police say 59-year-old Donald Waige was arrested Tuesday at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Bucks County.

According to authorities, the child was strapped into a car seat and crying when they removed him from the running automobile.

Police say they went in the casino and found Waige, who said he left his sleeping son in the car and expected to spend only 10 minutes in the casino. Police said he did not realize he had been in the casino for over an hour.
