Drug probe in Hubbard brings charges against 2

A Hubbard Narcotics Unit investigation has led to charges against Elizabeth M. Barthany, 29, 223 Hager St., of two counts of trafficking in drugs, possessing dangerous drugs (Liboderm patches), possession of drugs (amphetamime, oxycodone and oxycontin) and child endangering.

Kory C. Barthany, 30, of the 1400 block of North Osborne Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with two counts of complicity to trafficking in drugs and child endangering.

Elizabeth Barthany’s bond was set at $60,000 for all the counts; she made bond via 10 percent cash/surety. She appeared Wednesday for a preliminary hearing in Girard Municipal Court and was bound over to Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on the drug-trafficking charges.

Kory Barthany’s initial court date will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

A search warrant was executed July 22 after a monthlong investigation.

The city and township police departments joined to form the Hubbard Narcotics Unit. Residents may report suspected drug activity by calling the tip line at 330-534-8477 (TIPS) and leaving as much information as possible.
