1974: The Supreme Court unanimously rules that President Richard Nixon has to turn over subpoenaed White House tape recordings to the Watergate special prosecutor.

1985: U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr. and the Internal Revenue Service are headed to U.S. Tax Court over the IRS claim that Traficant owes $145,000 on income he allegedly received from organized crime figures during his 1980 election campaign.
Robert Lee Tolley, 19, of New Middletown is doing his best to convince the IRS that he’s alive and well after his mother receives a letter telling her that she would receive Tolley’s $300 tax refund check after she produced a copy of his death certificate.
