New superintendent at Trumbull Educational Service Center

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center governing board has named Michael Hanshaw its new superintendent.

Hanshaw replaces Victoria Giovangnoli, who is retiring after three years in the job. Hanshaw takes over his new position Aug. 1. It pays $99,000 annually.

Hanshaw, currently assistant superintendent, was superintendent in the Weathersfield school district for five years and was also Mineral Ridge High School principal for eight years. He served as guidance counselor, athletic director and English teacher at Weathersfield before that.

Hanshaw has a bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa.
