Photographic society hands out awards

During an awards banquet June 22 at Perkins restaurant, 43 members of the Warren Photographic Society received honors.

The categories follow: Animals, Black & White, Creative Technique, People, Photojournalism, Pictorial, Plants and Still Life.

Each member is asked to present photos at scheduled Gallery Nights, and later the photos are entered in the End of the Year Competition. Three judges from New Wilmington, Pa., Photo Club were present to judge this year’s competition, which totaled 100 photos.

Sue Ramdin’s image, “Preparing to Clown,” won Print of the Year. Ramdin is from Canfield.

Other winners were Leslie Chishko, Earl Christian and Walt Unks, all of Champion; Joe Costarella of Girard; Roger Bartscher of Liberty; Cheri Campbell-Godfrey of Andover; Phil Smith of Austintown; Lorraine Nuzzi of Mineral Ridge, and Kristina Truhan of Warren.
