Train rides at Kent festival

KENT

Tickets for train rides at Saturday’s Kent Heritage Festival are available by calling the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce office at 330-673-9855. Due to construction related to the Fairchild Bridge project, the train will travel south to Sunnybrook Road, instead of north as in the past. Loading will be at the Pufferbelly Gazebo in downtown Kent. Tickets will be available Saturday at the KACC Information booth at the corners of Water and Main streets. Trains will depart at 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Coach tickets are $10 ($5 for children under 12), while caboose tickets are $15.

Wildwater Kingdom honors servicemen

AURORA

Geauga Lake’s Wildwater Kingdom will honor active, retired and honorably discharged military personnel with free admission Sunday and Monday (with a valid ID). Family members of military personnel can also purchase one-day tickets on these days for only $20.99, a savings of $6 per ticket.

The park will offer an admission ticket/meal deal Saturday through Monday. Tickets can be purchased at wildwaterfun.com. For more information, call 330-562-8303.

Celebrate America! at Kennywood Park

West Mifflin, PA.

Kennywood Park will hold Celebrate America! today through Monday. The event will include the sixth annual Weiner 100 Dachshund Race at 3 p.m. daily in the lawn behind the Carousel. Mimes, jugglers, magicians, stilt walkers, unicyclists, and Uncle Sam will perform around the park each day. Renowned carousel horse carver George Nowak, ice carver Rich Bubin, chainsaw carver Jeff Pinney and artist Linda Barnicott will demonstrate daily in the lagoon area. Each night will include the Kennywood Laser Spectacular, immediately followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
