Seedlings, fish for sale

SALEM — The Columbiana Soil and Water Conservation District is offering tree-seedling packets and fish for sale.

Those interested in planting trees on their property can choose from more than 35 varieties through the SWCD’s annual program. Tree-seedling packet pickup will be April 14-16.

The spring fish sale for local pond and lake owners offers various fish species such as largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, perch and white amur. The deadline to order fish is April 9. The fish will be available for pickup at 2:30 p.m. April 13 at the SWCD office.

Order forms can be obtained at the SWCD office, 1834-B S. Lincoln Ave., or by calling (330) 332-8732 or (877) 345-1198. The form includes descriptions of the tree seedlings and a fish-stocking guide.

Siren tests in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, Pa. — The Hermitage Fire Department will conduct its monthly test of the area’s weather-warning sirens at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The test will include activation of the Clark, Farrell, Sharpsville, West Middlesex and Wheatland sirens.

Chamber breakfast

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Speaker of the House Armond Budish will be the guest speaker at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s annual legislative breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday in the Chestnut Room of Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center.

Budish, a Democrat from Beachwood, is expected to review the accomplishments of the Ohio House and highlight his agenda for this year.

See bridge plans

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Plans for the Fairview School Road Bridge replacement in Slippery Rock Township will be on display at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 during the regular Slippery Rock supervisors’ meeting at the township building, 4334 U.S. Route 422.

The bridge is on Fairview School near the intersection of Copper Road.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation project team will be available to answer questions.
