Blue Jackets 3, Blues 2, OT

ST. LOUIS — Kris Russell scored at 1:32 of overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets their first victory in St. Louis in nine games.Fedor Tyutin and Derek Dorsett scored for the Jackets, and Mathieu Garon stopped 25 shots in his first game since Jan. 19. The Jackets were 0-7-1 in their previous eight visits to St. Louis. David Backes and Andy McDonald scored for St. Louis, and Chris Mason made 16 saves. Russell skated into the Blues’ zone and snapped a shot past Mason on the Jackets’ first shot in overtime after taking a feed from Derick Brassard. Tyutin gace the Blue Jackets a 2-1 lead on a two-man advantage with 1:24 left in the second. Tyutin’s shot from the high shot got past Mason, with R.J. Umberger setting a perfect screen in front. McDonald tied it with 1:35 remaining with a power-play goal from the right circle, a shot that caromed in off Garon’s glove.

Flyers 2, Islanders 1

PHILADELPHIA — Danny Briere and Scott Hartnell scored to help Philadelphia beat New York for the 14th straight time. The Flyers tied the NHL record for consecutive wins against one team. Ray Emery made 31 saves for the Flyers, allowing only Josh Bailey’s goal. Dwayne Roloson stopped 30 shots for New York. The Islanders have lost four straight and five of six.

Senators 3, Canadiens 2, OT

OTTAWA — Mike Fisher scored at 3:33 of overtime to give Ottawa its team-record ninth straight victory. Fisher scored during 3-on-3 play after both teams drew penalties in the extra period. He took a pass from defenseman Erik Karlsson and cut across the goalmouth to put a backhander past Jaroslav Halak. Alex Kovalev and Jason Spezza also scored for Ottawa, and Brian Elliott made 27 saves. Benoit Pouliot and Brian Gionta scored for Montreal.

Hurricanes 4, Blackhawks 2

RALEIGH, N.C. — Brandon Sutter and Matt Cullen scored in a 26-second span in the third period, and Cam Ward made 39 saves for Carolina. Sergei Samsonov and Jussi Jokinen also scored for the Hurricanes, who have won five of their last six. Ward has stopped 129 of 134 shots in his last four games. Marian Hossa and Andrew Ladd scored for Chicago, and Cristobal Huet made 20 saves. Ladd, who beat Ward with a wrist shot in the third period, helped Carolina win the Stanley Cup in 2006 before he was traded to Chicago for Tuomo Ruutu last season.

Canucks 5, Maple Leafs 3

TORONTO — Alex Burrows and Daniel Sedin each scored twice, and Henrik Sedin added a goal to help the Vancouver Canucks rally for their season-high fifth straight victory. Vancouver overcame a three-goal, first-period deficit that resulted in the rare benching of star goalie Roberto Luongo. Phil Kessel scored twice, and Jamal Mayers added a goal for Toronto, winless in its last six games.

Kings 3, Bruins 2, SO

BOSTON — Jaret Stoll beat Tim Thomas in the sixth round of the shootout, giving the Los Angeles Kings their fourth straight victory and the Bruin their seventh straight loss. Boston’s seven-game losing streak, which started with a shootout loss in Los Angeles, is the team’s longest since 1997. The Bruins’ six-game home losing streak is their longest since 1924-25. Anze Kopitar, whose first-period shot was tipped in by Dustin Brown, scored at 4:29 of the third period to tie it for the Kings. Marco Sturm, returning from a six-game absence with a leg injury, and Mark Recchi scored for the Bruins, who had one power-play goal in their previous nine games.
