Medical alliance to host brunch, fashion show

CANFIELD — Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance will host its 6th annual Champagne Brunch/Fashion Show Feb. 25 at Avion on the Water, 2177 S. Western Reserve Road. Proceeds will benefit the Garden of Hope to be constructed this year at the Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, Beeghly Campus, in Boardman.

The event will begin with a social and basket raffle at 10 a.m., followed by a champagne brunch at 11.

The style show will be presented by Suzanne’s Tennis and Golf of Boardman, and Coldwater Creek in the Eastwood Mall will show the latest in women’s apparel and accessories. Hairstyles will be by Casal’s De Spa and Salon, Boardman.

The cost for the event is $30 per person, and tables of eight can be reserved.

Reservations can be made by mailing a check, payable to MCMSA, to the organization at 536 E. Main St., Canfield, OH 44406, or by calling (330) 533-4880, by Feb. 15.

Arrangements for the fundraiser are being made by Shelly Barton and Karen Kuppler, co-chairs, and Susan Berny, Cassi Calderon, Gloria Detesco, Shelly Duffett, Kathy Dwinnells, Tammy Engle, Anita Gestosani, Donna Hayat, Paula Jakubek, Tricia Potesta, Carol Sankovic, Renae Sharf and Susan Yarab, committee members.

Last year MCMSA donated $5,700 toward a pledge of $22,500 for the Garden of Hope to be constructed in an enclosed courtyard area at the hospital.

Naming opportunities, including brick pavers inscribed as the donor wishes, will be available.
