Youngstown company offers solar product

YOUNGSTOWN — Northern States Metals said it is offering a new product that allows solar panels to be assembled more quickly.

A Solar FlexRack mounting rack can be installed by a three-person crew in three minutes or less, which can save installers money, said Northern States, which is located in the Salt Springs Road Industrial Park.

Projects using the product include those in Ohio, New Jersey, Arizona and California.

Advice for Delphi retirees

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Taxation cautioned Delphi Corp. retirees that they may need to make quarterly estimated tax payments based on the income they are starting to receive from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.

Last year, the PBGC took over Delphi pensions for hourly and salary workers because Delphi could not afford to maintain them. For more information on making quarterly estimated payments, visit tax.Ohio.gov, go to the “Filing Season Central” page, then select “Making estimated payments.”
