SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Lindsay Schrader scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half and Natalie Novosel added 12 points for Notre Dame (18-1, 5-1 Big East). The Irish led 35-22 at halftime, then opened the second half with a 5-0 burst to take an 18-point lead. Chelsea Marandola scored five of her 18 points during a 7-0 run by the Friars that cut the lead to 50-38. But Providence couldn’t get any closer.

No. 6 Nebraska 89, Texas Tech 47

LUBBOCK, Texas — Kelsey Griffin had 20 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth straight double-double to lead Nebraska. Nebraska (18-0, 5-0 Big 12) is off to the best start of any Big 12 team since the conference’s inception in 1996-97. The Huskers and top-ranked Connecticut are the only unbeatens left in Division I. Freshman Christine Hyde scored a career-high 15 points to led Texas Tech (13-6, 1-4).

No. 14 Baylor 61, No. 8 Texas A&M 53

WACO, Texas — Melissa Jones provided Baylor a much-needed boost in her return, scoring 17 points with 10 rebounds. The Lady Bears (15-4, 2-3 Big 12) had fallen out of the Top 10 without Jones, losing three of the four games their junior guard missed because of a right leg injury described as a precursor to a stress fracture. Brittney Griner, the 6-foot-8 freshman sensation, added 20 points and Kelli Griffin 13 for Baylor. Tyra White had 19 points for Texas A&M (15-3, 3-2), which was held 28 points below its season average.

No. 10 Xavier 88, Rhode Island 60

KINGSTON, R.I. — April Phillips had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ta’Shia Phillips added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Musketeers (15-3, 5-0 Atlantic 10), who have won six straight. April Philips, who came into the game averaging 9.8 points, hit 7 of her 13 shots. Ta’Shia Phillips was 8-for-10 from the field. Megan Shoniker scored 28 points for the Rams (9-12, 2-4), who have lost four straight.

AMES, Iowa — Anna Prins and Kelsey Bolte each scored 15 points. Alison Lacey added 12 for the Cyclones (16-3, 4-2 Big 12), who have won four consecutive games after an 0-2 start to the conference season. Nyeshia Stevenson led Oklahoma in scoring with 14 points. Abi Olajuwon added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

No. 16 West Virginia 53, Seton Hall 31

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Korinne Campbell scored 17 points and West Virginia overcame a sluggish start. Sarah Miles added 13 points for the Mountaineers (19-2, 6-1 Big East), who matched the best start in school history set by the 1991-92 team.

Marquette 52, No. 17 Georgetown 45

MILWAUKEE — Angel Robinson’s three-point play gave Marquette the lead with 1:07 remaining, and the Golden Eagles went on to knock off Georgetown. Robinson scored 20 points for the Golden Eagles (13-7, 4-3 Big East), who won despite committing a season-high 30 turnovers.

No. 20 TCU 78, Colorado State 51

FORT WORTH, Texas — Emily Carter scored 18 points and Helena Sverrisdottir added 14 as TCU won for the 10th time in its last 11 games.

No. 21 Virginia 73, N.C. State 60

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Monica Wright scored 26 points and Whitny Edwards hit two big 3-pointers to give Virginia some breathing room late in the second half.

No. 25 Georgia Tech 78, Miami 73, OT

ATLANTA — Brigitte Ardossi had 29 points and 17 rebounds to lead Georgia Tech to an overtime victory.
