No criminal charges in man burned in backyard


WARREN — After talking to the city man burned in a fire in the backyard of a home on North Park Avenue in Champion Township, the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office has concluded its investigation and determined that no criminal charges are warranted.

The injured man, Joseph Nall, 41, spoke with investigators late Wednesday and confirmed that he became disoriented and fell into the fire, resulting in severe burns all over his body.

Officials said the accident occurred at 4 a.m. Tuesday. An unidentified person, who later spoke with investigators, dropped off Nall at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital about 6 a.m.

Nall was later transferred to Cleveland Metro Hospital.
