Pittsburgh parkway reopens after flooding

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reopened the parkway around downtown Pittsburgh after pumping flood water from the roadway.

PennDOT workers got the half-mile section of Interstate 376 reopened in time for Wednesday morning’s rush hour.

Heavy rainfall and melting snow caused the Monongahela River to rise and forced closure of the parkway on Tuesday.

The 10th Street Bypass remains closed because of flooding.
