Shoplifting suspect dies in car wreck

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A suspect being chased by police in Ohio after a shoplifting crashed her car into a utility pole, killing herself and injuring a passenger.

Police in the Toledo suburb of Oregon began chasing the two women early this morning after getting a call about a shoplifting.

They ended the chase when the car drove into Toledo, but the vehicle lost control and crashed into the pole.

Toledo police say the driver was thrown from the car and the passenger ran away. The passenger was later taken into custody and treated at a hospital.
