Globetrotters sell out at Covelli Saturday


YOUNGSTOWN — The legendary Harlem Globetrotters 2010 “Magical Memories” World Tour stop at the Covelli Centre here Saturday is completely sold out. The World Tour has broken 28 box office records through its first four weeks. The team is on pace to surpass the 62 box office records set during the 2009 tour. Fans now shut out of the Youngstown event can see the team in Akron Thursday, Canton Friday or Erie, Pa., Sunday. The Globetrotters are in their 84th consecutive season of touring the world, and will perform 269 shows in 216 cities in 44 states, the District of Columbia, five Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through the first week of May. The Original Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining more than 130 million fans. The Globetrotters are one of only six teams to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
