Seton Hall 64, No. 9 Pittsburgh 61

NEWARK, N.J. — Herb Pope had 19 points and nine rebounds and Seton Hall posted its biggest win in four years. Jeff Robinson tallied 15 points and hit two clutch free throws with 12 seconds to play as the Pirates (12-6, 3-4 Big East) won despite having leading scorer Jeremy Hazell limited to nine points and 16 minutes by foul problems. The last time Seton Hall beat a top-10 team was March 3, 2006, against then-No. 8 Pitt. Ashton Gibbs had 23 points, including all 14 of his free throws, to lead Pittsburgh (15-4, 5-2), but he missed two tying 3-point attempts in the final 5 seconds. Jermaine Dixon added 11 points for the Panthers, who lost their second straight for the first time since February 2008. No. 12 Georgetown knocked off Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Florida State 68, No. 19 Georgia Tech 66

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Chris Singleton scored a career-high 23 points and Solomon Alabi made two go-ahead free throws with 22.8 seconds left to life the Seminoles. Alabi finished with 14 points and was perfect in six trips to the foul line for Florida State, (15-4, 3-2 ACC), which has won its last five against Georgia Tech. Alabi’s free throws made it 67-66, and Brian Oliver missed a 3-point try and Gani Lawal and Iman Shumpert both missed opportunities to tie the game for Georgia Tech. Jordan DeMercy added a free throw in the closing seconds for the final margin. Freshman Brian Oliver hit six 3-pointers and scored a career-best 20 points for the Yellow Jackets (14-5, 3-3 ACC), while Derrick Favors added 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

No. 20 Northern Iowa 67, Indiana State 58

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Kerwin Dunham scored a career-high 14 points, Jordan Eglseder added 12 points and the Panthers rebounded from their first conference loss. Northern Iowa (17-2, 8-1 Missouri Valley) had the nation’s second-longest winning streak snapped at 15 games earlier in the week by Wichita State. Rashad Reed scored 14 points to lead Indiana State (11-9, 3-6), which has lost four straight games. Harry Marshall added 13 points and Brant Leitnaker 10. It was the second time in eight days the two teams met, with Northern Iowa beating the Sycamores 62-40 in Cedar Falls on Jan. 16.

WOMEN

No. 3 Tennessee 55, No. 18 LSU 43

BATON ROUGE, La. — Alyssia Brewer had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead Tennessee. Kelly Cain added 11 points and Angie Bjorklund had 10 for the Lady Vols (17-2, 5-1 Southeastern Conference), who held the Tigers to 26 percent shooting.

No. 4 Notre Dame 74, No. 16 West Virginia

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Lindsay Schrader scored eight of her 16 points during a decisive run, Skylar Diggins added 15 points and Notre Dame rallied. The Fighting Irish (17-1, 4-1 Big East) improved to 5-1 against ranked opponents while the Mountaineers (18-2, 5-1) fell to 1-2 against ranked teams.

Mississippi 66, No. 8 Georgia 65

ATHENS, Ga. — Bianca Thomas hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left, capping an 11-2 run down the stretch to lift Ole Miss atop the Southeastern Conference.

BOULDER, Colo. — Andrea Riley scored 26 points, Tegan Cunningham had 21 and the No. 12 Cowgirls bounced back from their first loss in two months.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Alysha Harvin hit six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 22 points, and Chasity Clayton added a career-high 21 to lead the 15th-ranked Seminoles.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Chanel Mokango scored 19 points, Alexis Rack had 17 and the Lady Bulldogs wrapped up a regular-season sweep of the Commodores.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Monica Wright scored 15 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as the No. 25 Cavaliers survived a wild final 10 seconds.

No. 24 Vermont 67, Stony Brook 45

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Courtnay Pilypaitis scored 21 points, May Kotsopoulos added 18 points and the No. 24 Catamounts won again in their first appearance in the Top 25 in 17 years.
