McDonough Museum to host Mad About the Arts celebration

YOUNGSTOWN — The 14th annual celebration of Mad About the Arts has been scheduled for Feb. 19 at the McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., as a benefit for the museum and SMARTS (Students Motivated by the Arts).

A Friends of the Arts preview reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include selections from Second Avenue Jazz, hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

The main event from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. will feature music by the Second Avenue Project. The eight musicians will provide classic renditions of Rhythm and Blues, Swing, Jazz and the top 40 for dancing. There will also be a selection of wines, champagnes and microbrews, hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

On display during the fundraiser will be selected works in various media by members of the studio art faculty in the department of art at Youngstown State University.

Tickets for the preview reception and main event are $75, and for the main event only tickets are $30. Discounted tickets can be purchased until Thursday and are $55 for the preview reception and $25 for the main event. Corporate sponsorships are available.
