Genetics degree
Jeffrey M. Kidd, son of Lynn and Thomas Kidd of Boardman, recently received his doctor of genetics degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Kidd is a 2001 graduate of Boardman High School. He received a bachelor of arts in biology in 2005 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, graduating summa cum laude. While at Case, he received these awards: the Daniel Burke Prize for excellence in biology; the Ralph A. Spengler Jr. Award for excellence in plant science; and the John Schoff Millis Award for the senior with the best academic record in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Kidd is joining the Genetics Research Department of Stanford University, where he will continue his research.
