Junior women's league begins the year with new officers and events


BOARDMAN — Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League prepared for 2010 by electing a slate of officers during a social gathering on Dec. 7 at Drake’s Landing.

Accepting the responsibility of various officers were: Denise Statler, president; Patty Reese, president elect; Nina Lowery, vice president; Dianne Phillips, second vice president; Margaret Cherol, treasurer; Paula Geidner, assistant treasurer/ corresponding secretary; and Andrea Stamp, recording secretary.

Welcomed as new members were Monica Baker, JoAnn Offil and Alexis Steven.

“New Year, New Friends, New Stuff” is the theme chosen for the next meeting of the club at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at Glenellen Assisted Living, 9661 Market St. Local vendors will participate.

The league is open to women over 18 years of age living in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties. Its mission is to provide a creative outlet for those interested in community service in areas of arts, conservation, education, home life, and international and public affairs.
