Exploring the earth, inside and out
Poland Union Elementary students were able to travel to the center of the earth, literally.
Union Elementary’s gym was taken over Jan. 15 by a giant inflatable earth.
The oversized Earth replica stood at 22 feet wide and 20 feet high. Students were rotated in 30-minute increments for a total of nine shows for the day.
Each show was instructed by Kathleen Day, of Springfield, who works with Mobile Ed Productions. Students were enlightened on the climate, biological makeup, location and little-known facts pertaining to the seven continents.
Students were able to travel into the inflated Earth where they could view world from a different standpoint.
