Canfield High Y-Teens Sock Hop draws big crowd

The Canfield High School Y-Teens sponsored a Sock Hop at the school Jan. 15 after the home boys basketball game.

This was a fundraiser for the Y-Teens organization, which provides students with the opportunity to be of service to the community and to socialize with other students.

Recent activities include sending cards to nursing homes, registering voters at open house, donating food and money to Operation Blessing, Toys for Tots, collecting and donating school supplies and various community needs. Y-Teens also makes Easter baskets for the children of the Sojourner House.

The money for many of these projects is primarily raised through the sale of Entertainment Books and sponsoring this Y-Teens Sock Hop. Membership is open to any student and there is a modest membership fee.
