Poland Seminary High School hosted the Ohio Music Education Association’s annual solo and ensemble festival on Saturday. This is an annual event and is Poland’s third year hosting the competition. Fourteen schools participated in this music-filled day totaling 600 solo and small ensemble performances.

Students were judged and rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with one being the highest rating. Students receiving a rating of 1 or 2 received a certificate of achievement along with a medal.

Performance ratings were posted in the school’s cafeteria shortly after their performance. Twenty-seven performances from PSHS’s band received a superior rating of one and nine received an excellent rating of two.

The event was held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
