Jan. 9

Theft: Police charged Annie L. Tellington, 37, of 2740 South Ave., Youngstown, with stealing eight women’s undergarments from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Jewelry was stolen from the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall, resulting in a charge against 51-year-old Gloria J. Betts, 4387 Burkey Road, Austintown.

Domestic violence: Joseph P. Sattarelle, 19, of 1544 Midland Ave., Youngstown, faced a charge after police responded to a 911 call from a Tod Avenue apartment. Sattarelle came to his sister’s home intoxicated, argued with the accuser and punched her in the face, causing a bloody nose and lip, a report said.

Misuse of a credit card: A Lowellville woman discovered her stolen bank card had been used to make an $81 unauthorized transaction at an East Midlothian Boulevard gas station.

Jan. 10

Robbery: A Columbiana woman reported a girl about age 16 in black clothing approached her in the Southern Park Mall parking lot with a small folding knife and demanded money before fleeing in a gray Chevrolet Cobalt. The robber got $36, a report said.

Misuse of a credit card: A Southern Boulevard man discovered five unauthorized transactions, including one for $1,610 in Brooklyn, N.Y., had been made, leaving his bank account $1,988 short.

Theft: A man in his 30s was seen on a surveillance camera leaving Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road, after having stolen a camera bag and lens.

Theft: A woman left Aldi food store, 6131 South Ave., without paying for a shopping cart full of groceries.

Attempted burglary: Pry marks were found on a door to a residence in the 8100 block of Stadler Avenue.

Theft/drugs: Tara M. Stewart, 19, of 3955 Fourth St., Struthers, and 23-year-old Jacquelyne C. Sebastian, 853 Roxbury Ave., Youngstown, faced felony theft and misdemeanor drug-related charges after roughly $2,735 worth of jewelry had been stolen from Macy’s. Also found were two syringes, a spoon with suspected drug residue and a dangerous drug, a report said. Stewart also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Jan. 11

Theft/menacing: A worker for a South Avenue motel reported a man who had stayed more than two weeks disputed and refused to pay a $649.27 discounted room rate, then threatened a family member of the employee.

Menacing: A Woodrow Avenue woman told officers her former boyfriend continued to make unwanted contact by phone and text message, and that he was stalking her.

Menacing: A Mathews Road woman reported her former boyfriend left 23 text messages, threatening to beat her up on one occasion.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of her son’s $137 pair of eyeglasses at Market Street Elementary School, 5555 Market St. Theft: A woman checking online her account at a Market Street bank noticed two unauthorized transactions totaling $75.

Theft: Joshua B. Garvin, 21, of New Cumberland, W.Va., was charged after one bottle each of hair spray and gel were taken from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Domestic violence: Officers charged 50-year-old David L. Berry, 3675 E. Main St., New Waterford, after his wife reported he had threatened to throw her down a flight of stairs during an argument at a township home related to their living arrangements.

Theft: A man in his late 20s stole two diamond rings from Kay Jewelers in the Southern Park Mall, costing the store around $19,000.

Jan. 12

Stolen property: Arnold J. Ash, 44, of 7400 West Blvd., Boardman, faced a felony count of receiving stolen property after police questioned him about a box he had in a shopping cart, and determined the $898 computer had been stolen from Wal-Mart.

Jan. 14

Theft by deception: An employee with Taylor Kia, 7975 Market St., told authorities a man bought a car for $17,671 and was to pay cash, secure financing or return the vehicle within 30 days, but failed to do so.

Misuse of a credit card: A township woman said her stolen card was used without permission to make two unauthorized charges totaling $148 at two Girard locations.

Auto theft: A 1995 Buick Century was missing from an apartment in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Theft: Twenty DVDs and compact discs, a global positioning system unit, an MP3 player and other items were missing from a vehicle in the 100 block of Maple Drive.

Damage/theft: Several residents on Windsor and Overhill roads, Prestwick Drive and other nearby streets reported damage to their vehicles. Money was missing from one of the cars.

Arrest: Officers responded to a suspicious person at a U.S. Route 224 business and took into custody 32-year-old Bryan J. Hackett, of 7410 West Blvd. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: Police booked and released on a summons 18-year-old Jazmine N. Edwards, 251 Madison Ave., Youngstown, and Kali M. Woods, 21, of 93 Wick Oval, Youngstown. Both were accused of stealing about $170 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A deposit containing an undisclosed amount was missing from Plumb Gold in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft/forgery: A Shields Road woman checked her account and noticed it was $400 short, and that seven personal checks had been forged and cashed. Burglary: Took place in the 50 block of Shields Road, where a $1,250, 52-inch plasma TV was missing.

Jan. 15

Arrest: Lonny E. Parry, 43, of 3880 Dunbar Ave., Austintown, was charged with violating a protection order after a Woodrow Avenue woman told police she had seen him walking past her residence. Despite the order the woman had against Parry, he later showed up at her place of employment, a report said.

Assault: A woman told police her son had been struck three times in the head at Boardman Center Middle School, 7410 Market St.

Misuse of a credit card: A West Parkside Drive man discovered his card had been used to make five unauthorized purchases totaling $4,342 at a Jacksonville, Fla., store.

Assault: Officers responded to a fight between two females in the 100 block of Maple Drive, where one girl had a bloody nose and a cut near her left eye.

Burglary: In the 4000 block of Shelbourne Drive. Money, medications and a lock box were missing.

Assault: Police responded to St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus, where an employee of a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant alleged a co-worker had head-butted the accuser during an argument about work-related issues.

Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a side door to Aerotech Mechanical Contractors, 574 McClurg Road, then stole about $11,000 worth of copper pipes and fittings.

Jan. 16

Theft: Barbara M. Stauffer, 27, of 5354 Copeland Ave. N.W., Warren, was charged in the theft of $158 worth of clothing, CDs and DVDs from Wal-Mart.

Burglary: Someone entered an empty apartment in the 100 block of Stadium Drive through the front door.

Menacing: A woman at a McClurg Road business said a man had threatened to harm her.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 1900 block of Boardman-Poland Road sustained damage to its hood and a scratch to the right front fender. Damage came to $600.

Fraud: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman reported someone is using her phone number for nefarious purposes, saying she received several threatening calls from creditors.

Criminal damaging: A 17-year-old Warren girl faced charges of criminal damaging and possession of criminal tools after being accused of using a pair of scissors to cut the packaging of several items at Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Sixty-one prescription medications were stolen from a Midwood Circle home.

Theft: Someone removed $30 from a car in the 30 block of Lucerne Lane.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 900 block of Boardman-Poland Road resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Tyeisha S. Teague, of 443 Garfield St., Youngstown. Teague was wanted on a probation-violation count; the original charge was larceny.

Theft: Several tenants in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue reported their vehicles had been entered. Among the property stolen were an MP3 player, a GPS unit, an in-dash CD player and medications.

Jan. 17

Menacing/damage: A man in the 4000 block of South Avenue found a flattened tire to his vehicle and said he also had been threatened with a knife.

Breaking and entering: A nail gun, an air compressor and a garage-door opener were missing from a home in the 200 block of Nevada Avenue that someone had broken into.

Theft/damage: Someone entered a vehicle in the 100 block of Danbury Drive, then removed $665.

Theft: A stereo faceplate and a GPS device were stolen from a car in the 6700 block of Trenholm Drive.

Theft: Two identification cards and a grocery-store card were removed from a vehicle in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Burglary/damage: Someone pushed open a window before stealing a computer and a surround-sound system from an apartment in the 400 block of Mathews Road. The tenant’s vehicle also had all of its tires flattened and the brake lines cut.

Jan. 18

Theft: Three people left TGI Fridays on Doral Drive without paying a $102 bar tab.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 4200 block of Glenwood Avenue through an unlocked sliding-glass door. Stolen were a $2,000 diamond ring and a laptop computer.

Aggravated menacing: A worker with a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant told authorities a co-worker had made several threats and that as the accuser entered his car, the co-worker made a gesture to simulate having a weapon.

Burglary: Through a rear window to a residence in the 1900 block of Wingate Road. A 60-inch flat-screen TV, a men’s gold ring, personal checks and $300 worth of miscellaneous coins were stolen.

Jan. 21

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a residence in the 7300 block of Sierra Madre Drive through a rear door.

Theft: A man around age 30 left TGI Fridays, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., without paying his $34.75 tab.

Criminal damaging: Someone intentionally drove over and damaged part of a lawn in the 300 block of Brainard Drive.

Burglary: Through the front door of a home in the 4800 block of Erie Street, though police found no signs of forced entry. A handgun and jewelry were stolen.

Theft/damage: A vehicle in the 5200 block of Old Oxford Lane had a window broken, and a small amount of money was taken.

Theft: Officers booked 18-year-old Ronald J. Duvall, 433 E. Marion Ave., Youngstown, and Justin A. Vasquez, 19, of 2719 Julian St., Youngstown, who were accused of stealing six articles of men’s clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Identity fraud: A Forest Garden Drive man found out his credit card had been used to buy four articles of children’s clothing at a township store.

Theft: A 16-year-old Boardman boy was charged with stealing a $168 jacket from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Jan. 22

Theft/damage: A car’s window was smashed in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard before money, gift cards, a purse and a cell-phone charger were removed.

Theft: Jeromy L. Medovich, 28, of 311 Fifth St., Niles, and 32-year-old Jared B. Wilson, 1550 Bonnie Brae Ave., Warren, were charged, accused in the theft of Sony PlayStation 3 games from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. Medovich also was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Arrest: A traffic stop on East Midlothian Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Nathaniel D. Clark III, 230 Norwood Ave., Youngstown. Clark was wanted by city police on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: A Presidential Court woman reported her son’s medications stolen, as well as some of her jewelry.

Breaking and entering: A front window was smashed at Peskin Sign Co., 3991 Simon Road, though it appeared nothing was missing.

Jan. 23

Auto theft: A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen in the 800 block of Edenridge Drive.

Criminal damaging: Numerous scratches were on a car at a South Avenue motel. The damage estimate was $200.

Arrest: Authorities charged Erik G. Solosabal, 33, of 166 Locust Drive, Boardman, with vandalism, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and obstructing official business after saying they noticed him trespassing at a Glendale Avenue residence. Police said they used a Taser because he was intoxicated, refused several times to obey commands and lunged at officers; Solosabal, who was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a $5,000 bond, also kicked and damaged a cruiser’s window, a report said.

Identity theft: A Windsor Road man learned his information had been used to open a cable account in Montgomery, Ala., and that it had a $200 balance.

Arrest: Police charged 28-year-old Jerome R. McGee of Market Street, Boardman, with criminal trespassing when, they said, he was asking for money at a nearby gas station despite having been issued a warning to stay off the premises.

Attempted theft: Two men tried to steal leather jackets and other property from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Someone removed a $300 tailgate from a truck in the 4200 block of Simon Road.

Theft: A $99 corset was taken from Con-figure-ation in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A car’s front windshield was damaged in the 30 block of Centervale Avenue.

Theft/damage: Two car stereos and a checkbook were taken from a vehicle that sustained damage in the 6000 block of Glenridge Drive.

Assault: A 17-year-old girl reported seven people jumped, kicked, punched and knocked her to the ground at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

Jan. 24

Attempted burglary: Took place in the 6200 block of Appleridge Drive. Also, a next-door neighbor’s motion lights were tampered with.

Theft: Two people in their early 20s paid only $30 of a $63.38 food bill before leaving Smokey Bones Barbecue and Grill, 6651 South Ave.

Theft: Two women and a man left Smokey Bones without paying a $225 food bill.

Theft: A man and a woman stole women’s clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: Someone broke a rear bedroom window before stealing $12,200 worth of jewelry from an East Western Reserve Road home.

Domestic violence: Alexander J. Pascarella, 30, of 91 Roche Way, faced charges of domestic violence and disrupting public services, a felony, after his wife reported he had acted in a threatening manner at her residence and made several threats during an argument about property he wanted back. The Boardman man also took and refused to return the accuser’s cell phone as she tried to dial 911, a report said.

Jan. 25

Theft: Twenty gallons of gasoline were siphoned from a vehicle in the 5000 block of Market Street.

Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant reported a co-worker threatened to kill him.

Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 5200 block of Allen Drive, where a 37-inch, flat-screen TV was taken.
