Salem 38, Poland 36, OT

POLAND — Amy Scullion scored the game-tying basket to force overtime, then scored all five of Salem’s points in the extra period as the Quakers (10-2, 2-1) survived a scare in an All-American Conference Red Tier game. Trailing 33-31 with 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Scullion dribbled the length of the floor, pulled up at the foul line and buried the game-tying shot with a hand in her face. The Ohio State recruit finished with 19 points. Poland had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds of overtime, but missed a shot and Salem played keepaway in the backcourt for the game’s final 10 seconds to secure the win. Lauren Tadla scored eight points with 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs (8-6, 1-3), who fell behind 7-0 before rallying to take a 9-7 lead in the first quarter. Poland also outscored Salem 12-7 in the fourth quarter.

Struthers 68, Lakeview 37

Struthers — Dana Mathews had 18 points and Katelyn Ardale 17 to lead the Wildcats, who put up 21 points in the first quarter to get the game in gear. Kaitlyn Opritza, a senior, had nine of Struthers’ 32 rebounds. Mathews, who surpasses 1,000 points earlier this season, is averaging 15.5 points. Struthers is 10-3, 3-0 AAC White. Ali Gagnes 17 points led Lakeview (5-9, 2-1 AAC White).

Hubbard 61, Liberty 44

HUBBARD — Paige Seech scored 10 of her 17 points in the first half as Hubbard took a 29-19 lead en route to the AAC White Tier victory. Maggie Evans added 11 points for the Eagles (7-7, 2-0) and Kelly Bullock had 10. For Liberty (4-10, 0-3), Shanae Thomas had 13 points, Bianca Rozenblad scored 12 and Nay Nay Merriweather added 10.

Campbell 61, Girard 43

CAMPBELL — After three quarters of minimal leads, Campbell outscored Girard in the final period, 22-7. The Red Devils (9-2, 3-0 AAC Blue) had four starters in double figures with senior Jayaira Grhim getting 18 points and six steals. Senior Tashir Uceta had 17 points and five assists and senior Brande Ellington had 12 points and eight rebounds. Junior Iesha Moses scored 10 points. For the Indians (5-7, 1-2), Katelynne Brainard had 13 points, Kaylin Sandridge 12 and Desiree DeFrank 10.

East Palestine 44, Chaney 36

EAST PALESTINE — Bree Hull scored 14 points and East Palestine used a 12-4 advantage in the second quarter to take control. Chelsea Stewart added eight points for the Bulldogs (6-6), who led 20-11 at halftime. Laniece McRae scored 14 points to lead Chaney (3-11).

East 58, Akron Kenmore 31

AKRON — Lesa Oliver scored 14 points with eight rebounds to lead East (9-4), while Briana Dawson had 14 points, 16 rebounds, five steals and four assists and Reshayla Taylor had 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Porshae Hearn led Kenmore (9-4) with 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

Champion 47, Brookfield 38

BROOKFIELD — Paige Loychik led the Golden Flashes with 23 points. For the Warriors, Paige Wallace scored 18 points and Ashley Swezey 14.

LaBrae 52, Newton Falls 43

LEAVITTSBURG — Newton Falls was within 35-34 entering the fourth quarter, then stayed close until the five-minute mark before LaBrae finished the period making 12 of 15 free throws. Despite a Newton Falls press throughout the game, junior Julie Gibson managed 19 points, including 5 of 6 at the foul line in the final period. Junior Brittani Hill collected 13 rebounds and senior Sharea Elkins grabbed 11 rebounds. Rachel Ellis’ 14 points paced Newton Falls.

Field 65, Southeast 39

RAVENNA — Tricia Williams scored 10 points to lead Southeast, which fell behind 32-17 at halftime.

Wellsville 57, Beaver Local 46

LISBON — Mike Johnston scored 15 points, Jalen DeSarro had 14 points and Deshon Pullie scored 13 to lead Wellsville (10-1), which outscored Beaver Local 27-11 in the fourth quarter to rally. Travis Lynch scored 11 for Beaver Local (4-8), while Mow Mow Thompson and Zack Murray each had 10.
