Former Pa. Cub Scout worker sentenced for porn

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man who worked as the aquatics director for a summer Cub Scouts camping program in western Pennsylvania has been sentenced to five years and three months in federal prison for possessing child pornography.

Phillip Tielke, 22, of Castle Shannon, was sentenced Tuesday by a federal judge here.

Tielke worked for the Cub Scout section of Heritage Reservation in Farmington, about 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, when he was charged in June. He has since lost that job.

Tielke’s attorney argued for a lower sentence by arguing that he never intended to distribute 600 images and videos found on his computer. But a federal judge in Pittsburgh says Tielke effectively did that because he participated in a peer-to-peer computer file sharing network.
