Property owners seek to annex almost 100 acres to Salem

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

SALEM — Mayor Jerry Wolford said he will present council tonight with an ordinance that would add just under one hundred acres to the city.

Wolford said that the land is all vacant and all those involved have agreed to the annexation.

Part of the land involved in the change belongs to Dan Swindell, who owns the Quaker City Raceway. The raceway is not involved in the annexation, but other vacant land owned by Swindell is.

The land is on the west side of U.S. Route 62 and extends north from the Salem by-pass into Green Township in Mahoning County.
