St. Patrick students are pint-size heros

HUBBARD — A representative of the American Red Cross attended an assembly on Jan. 5 at St. Patrick School and explained how important blood drives are to the community.

Olivia Trinkese, an eighth-grade student, took part in the program dressed as the blood drive mascot, Buddy the Blood Drop.

During the event, students received cards to take home for their parents to register for a blood drive.

The school participated in the American Red Cross Pint-Size Hero program during the blood drive on Jan. 8 at the parish center. Older students helped register the blood donors.

The program is a community service project designed to teach children the importance of donating blood.
