YOUNGSTOWN — A Boardman man may be headed to prison for more than 14 years after pleading to drug-related charges in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Archie Stanford of Moyer Street appeared today before Judge James C. Evans for a scheduled trial. Stanford had been charged with three counts of felony trafficking in cocaine.
Before the trial could get under way, however, Stanford reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. He agreed to plead guilty to all three charges.
The maximum sentence on the charges is 14 1⁄2 years in prison and fines totaling $30,000. He also faces a mandatory license suspension of six months to five years.
Prosecutors have recommended a three-year sentence in prison on all charges.
Stanford was indicted in November 2009 after prosecutors say he was involved in a series of drug sales to undercover officers.
Stanford is free on $40,000 bond. He will be back in court April 15 for sentencing.
