Family honors Dr., Mrs. D’Isa at dinner party

CANFIELD

On Nov. 25, Dr. and Mrs. Frank A. D’Isa, of Boardman, were honored by their family in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner hosted by their daughters at A La Cart Catering in Canfield.

The former Mary Kay Buckley and Mr. D’Isa were united in marriage at St. Edward Church in Youngstown on Dec. 30, 1950. They are charter members of St. Christine Church in Youngstown.

Out-of-town attendees from South Bend, Ind., were their daughter Dr. Nancy Turner, her husband, John J., and son, Jacob. Granddaughter Erin Turner Rotterman and her husband, Cory, came from Chicago. Another daughter, Dr. Jane D’Isa-Smith, her husband Sean, and sons Liam, Aidan and Sean Jr. and daughter, Moira, attended from Hudson, Ohio.

A veteran of WWII, Dr. D’Isa was on the engineering faculty at Youngstown State University for 45 years, 35 of them as chairman of Mechanical Engineering prior to retiring in 1992.

Mrs. D’Isa is a well-known watercolor artist who has exhibited locally and nationally. She has had 46 years of teaching experience as an art supervisor in Austintown Public Schools and then as an adjunct art instructor at YSU.
