Dollars for kettles

YOUNGSTOWN

The Salvation Army says a late start has put the organization behind in its Red Kettle Drive, but they are asking the community to help bring donations up to speed.

Becky Keck of the Mahoning County Salvation Army Advisory Board, said the sudden death of a key county organizer put the organization behind in its red-kettle efforts here. So the organization is asking area residents to help by putting $1 in the kettles whenever passing one.

Public contributions to Salvation Army kettles enable the organization to continue its year-round efforts at helping those in need, many of whom would otherwise be forgotten.
