Share your thoughts on Boardman Township

Saturday, August 28, 2010

Boardman Township residents have a new opportunity to share concerns, hopes and aspirations for the community.

Boardman Community Pride will host three community conversations with a trained facilitator among a cross section of Boardman residents during October and November at the Boardman branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.

The sessions will be confidential and not open to the press or walk-in residents, so people can feel comfortable discussing their thoughts. Each session is not expected to last more than two hours.

Boardman residents interested in participating in one of the community conversations may apply by calling 330-259-3355 and following the instructions on the message.

Calling and applying won’t guarantee selection for or inclusion in the conversations. Residents selected will be contacted by phone. This is a volunteer effort; no money will be paid to participants.

The primary purpose of the Boardman Community Pride is to promote pride in the community, but the group has expanded its membership and scope of service. It now serves Boardman Township trustees as a sounding board, idea generator and facilitator for community feedback and events.

The all-volunteer group may function as an organizing body for community projects. Members represent citizens, businesses, public institutions, healthcare and other important segments of Boardman Township.
