Hanni elected

youngstown

Rachel Hanni, 24, a city school board member, has been elected the new president of the Young Democrats for Mahoning County. Hanni is the daughter of Don Hanni III and granddaughter of the late Don Hanni, past chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party.

“I intend to bring energy to the young Democrats and try to see what we can do to stop young people leaving the area,” Hanni said. “The trade deals passed by the Republicans have really hurt our area and have led to young people leaving the Valley en masse.”

Kristen Olmi was elected vice president, Vicki Rusu was elected secretary and Ken Oyler, treasurer.
