STROUDSBURG, Pa.

Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains said two dogs have been euthanized after they were shot Tuesday by officers seeking the canines that have been roaming the community, injuring other animals and charging a police officer.

The Stroud Area Regional Police said two dogs had killed several cats in and around East Stroudsburg and mauled a deer Saturday that had to be put down because of its injuries. One of the dogs had charged at a police officer.
