COLUMBUS (AP) — Schools have another chance to seek corporate grant money to help pay for student field trips to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum.
Statehouse spokesman Gregg Dodd says that a year ago, when the funding for buses was offered for the first time, schools claimed all the available grants within 30 hours.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 1, schools may apply online for amounts ranging from $200 to $400, with the higher sums available to schools that are farther away from Columbus. The money will be awarded first come, first served.
Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. and the Wal-Mart Foundation have provided $72,000 for 240 individual grants.
