YOUNGSTOWN — “Nature’s Inspirations,” a collection of 22 works in oil by Ginny Lanterman Wiegand, will open Friday at the Weller Gallery at Mill Creek MetroParks Fellows Riverside Gardens.

The exhibit, on display through Oct. 10, reveals the artist’s passion for painting flowers and includes pieces painted in Russia with Boris Gravoff, a master decorative artist.

After being selected to paint an ornament for the 2004 White House Christmas tree, Wiegand was honored at a White House celebration with then first lady Laura Bush. Currently, the ornament remains in the White House collection.

A Youngstown native, Wiegand now lives in Florida. The public can meet her from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the gallery.
