COLUMBIANA

Don Arthurs and his wife, Dawn, are looking for someone who can run a top-notch theater.

The couple have put the Main Street Theater up for sale at an asking price of $750,000.

The couple bought the theater in the center of the city in 2007 and renovated it for a little over $1 million.

But Arthurs said Thursday he is a better software developer than theater operator.

The theater is still operating and will host skits in “Main Street Madness” May 14-16 and 21-23.

Authurs said that as a youth he attend the theater, which has offered movies, stage events, and lately, a church Sunday nights.

“It can still be a success with the right people involved,” he said.

People have told Arthurs how great the theater is, but when it came to buying tickets, he asked, “Where were they?”

He added people aren’t aware of the attractions that are available locally.

City Manager Keith Chamberlin said of the restoration, “It’s a beautiful building.” He said the modernization of the electronics was state-of-the-art.

The theater is listed with Kutlick Realty LLC in Youngstown.
