YWCA to host annual leadership conference

Registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. May 14 at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., will kick off a day of activities that have been planned for the third annual Women’s Leadership Conference to be sponsored by the YWCA of Youngstown.
“Get Involved. Unleash the Leader Within You” is the dominant theme for the event.
Topics to be discussed during the day include the following:
Panel discussion on women in politics.
Tools for finding the right job or employee in the recovering economy.
Facts about women’s health.
Financial literacy planning.
Nontraditional and green jobs outlook for women.
The Keynote address during the morning session will be by Julie Graber, managing director for the Institute on Women, who will speak on “Women in Politics.” Her talk will be followed by input on the subject by a group of panelists.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to attend a breakout session of their choice.
There will be a number of vendor tables and resource tables, a networking luncheon, an evaluation, door prizes and a basket raffle.
The cost is $30 per person; $10 for a full-time student with valid ID; and $200 for a group of eight (who register together). The fee includes the breakfast and lunch.
