Niles 2, Poland 1

NILES

Mike Watson outdueled Dom DeFelice in an All-American Conference game. Both allowed just three hits; Watson struck out four and DeFelice fanned six. Jim Dobran of Poland doubled in the third inning and Phil Lipari followed with a RBI single. For Niles (13-7) Patrick Barrett hit a double and scored, while Joe Livi singled and scored. Evan Bollinger and Watson had the RBIs.

McDonald 13, W. Reserve 3

BERLIN CENTER

Devin Bansberg had three hits, and David John, Will Robison and Mike Raschilla each had a pair of hits and RBIs as the Blue Devils won the ITCL Tier 2 title.

Mathews 7, Pymatuning Valley 6

ANDOVER

Collin Bowser had three hits while Rick Sommers and John Homan had two apiece for the Mustangs (15-2, 10-0 Northeast Athletic Conference) who clinched the league title.

Girard 6, LaBrae 3

LEAVITTSBURG

Tallen Birminghan singled four times to pace the Indians (15-6, 6-2). Michael Floravit also tripled for Girard. Mike Morris and Alex Warne doubled for LaBrae (6-10, 4-3).

Struthers 8, Liberty 2

LIBERTY

The Wildcats’ (9-6, 4-1 AAC) Joe Diloretto, who allowed only three hits. Dilloretto struck out six, and went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Nate Fader had a solo home run, and drove in the Leopards (7-9, 4-3) only two runs.

Crestview 12, Lisbon 3

LISBON

Matt May pitched a complete game for his third win. Tom Marnejon went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Logan Schafer went 4 for 5 with two doubles. Danny Reese had two singles and two RBIs for Lisbon.

Warren JFK 6, Chaney 4

WARREN

The Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Anthony Rossi and Mike Briach were each 2 for 3, and Briach had a double. Chaney’s Matt Franklin had a two-run home run.

Newton Falls 4, Campbell 2

NEWTON FALLS

Josh Gore’s home run wasn’t enough to lead the Red Devils past the Tigers, who scored on four hits.

Springfield 18, United 4

HANOVERTON

Cody Pitzo, Nick Russell and Matt Semach all had three hits for the Tigers (16-4, 9-2 ITCL). Dylon DeJane hit a grand slam and doubled. Joey Ohlin hit two doubles and Brad Ferraro one. For the Golden Eagles, Josh Miller homered while Jansen Sneltzer, Zack Taylor and Ryan Powell doubled.

Columbiana 19, Mineral Ridge 9

MINERAL RIDGE

Tyler Denmeade’s three hits included two doubles and he had three for the Clippers (10-8, 7-3 ITCL). Winning pitcher Andrew Burdick (2-1) also had three hits and scored four runs. Kyle Shaffer had two hits, two RBIs and he scored four runs. For the Rams, Bobby Cameron had three hits and Dan Ferguson had two doubles.

Norton 4, Southeast 1

NORTON

Southeast (3-14, 0-8 Portage Trail Conference) was held to six hits by Tommy Creighton. Anthony Pennington pitched a complete game for the Pirates, allowing seven hits, and he singled twice.
