Staff report

EAST PALESTINE

The East Palestine community will have its 8th Annual “Day of Giving” on May 8.

Volunteers will work on various projects including painting projects in the city park, a creek-cleaning project, improvements at the Historical Log Cabin and weeding and trimming at Boatman Cemetery.

Members of the East Palestine Association of Letter Carriers will be collecting food for the needy. Nonperishable food items can be left by mailboxes.

The committee suggested that volunteers may help an elderly or handicapped neighbor with yard work.

A luncheon for the volunteers will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. that day at the community center in the park.

Registration forms for volunteers are available at district schools, the library and city hall. Volunteers are asked to sign in at the community center between 8 and 9 a.m. that day before reporting to their site.
